Japanese Matcha Green Tea
Matcha is full of signifanct health benefits, with up to as much as ten times the benefits of regular green tea.
It's a superfood with so much more!
This is because the tea leaf is ground to a powder, allowing you to consume the entire leaf, not just the liquid that results from brewing the leaves.
Antioxidants are critical for protecting your body against harmful free-radicals.
Studies suggest that antioxidants that are found in green tea help to reduce the risk of cancer, boost the immune system and help to reduce cholesterol levels.
Chlorophyll is more concentrated in Matcha as opposed to standard green tea, because the tea leaves are grown in shaded conditions. The leaves, craving the sun, cope by increasing their chlorophyll content.
This may help your body to expel harmful toxins, such as heavy metals found in things such as soft drinks, deodorants etc, so in other words, it acts as a detoxifier.
Matcha is rich in the amino acid L-Theanine (found in tea plants), which helps to promote peace and calming, therefore reducing stress, whilst still enhancing alertness and energy.
Basically, it's a caffeine hit without the post coffee slump!
Catechins are a major group of the polyphenols found in tea and green tea.
Due to the high levels found in Matcha, this may help to reduce the risk of cancer, protect from cell damage and help to slow the ageing process.
Another added benefit is that due to the polyphenyl ECGC content, you may also boost your metabolism, thereby assisting with weight loss!
